  • Unsafe environment on Norfolk Street near St. Matthew's School

    Martin Lucas-Smith // 1 thread

Norfolk Street is narrowed considerably by the car parking on both sides.

At school dropping-off and collection time, there is absolute chaos, with all kinds of dodgy reversing manoeuvres with little children around. This is a shame, as there is really fantastic new cycle parking at the school. Also, the pay-and-display parking effectively makes this important contraflow route less safe than it should be.

The car parking by CB2 should be removed also. This is particularly hazardous.

  • Coleridge Road

Created by Heather Coleman // 1 thread

Perhaps this will be less of an issue when the Chisholm Trail is built? But I'm sure there are plenty of cycle users of this road for whom the Chisholm Trail will not be an appropriate alternative route, mostly people going shorter distances than I'm going or needing to do short stretches of it and not heading for Addenbrooke's.

Owing to various pathworks on Stourbridge and Midsummer Commons, I've been taking a different route from Milton to Addenbrooke's, going through Romsey and down Coleridge Road the last couple of weeks. It's horrible. Parked cars in random places make it fairly unpleasant as you have to weave in and out with cars which aren't exactly adhering to the 20mph speed limit going past you.

I know this is a pipe dream, but wouldn't it be nice if Coleridge Road was given the Gilbert Road treatment.

  • Parking on the towpath entrance

Created by Anna Langley // 1 thread

A dropped kerb was created here to make it easier for cyclists (in particular) to get onto and off the towpath. Since then, and even more so since the demolition of the Penny Ferry pub, cars and vans have been using the space as a car park. Vehicles are parked there daily, and I have been photographing them as I go past. I have included a link so you can see what I mean.

I've contacted my county and city councillors, and the council itself. And the response has been silence.

    Suggestions please...

  • Lammas Land car park route

    Martin Lucas-Smith // 1 thread

The Coe Fen to Granchester route suffers from a few problems:

    - Lack of left turn filter at the lights
    - Poor surfacing
    - Interface with cars along the access road to the car park
