Waterbeach Cycle Campaign has received a Zero Carbon Communities grant from SCDC for installation of some badly needed cycle racks in the village centre. We have consulted with villagers about their preferences for their location and the Parish Council has approved the installation in those locations.
We need to arrange for the installation

We know we need thousands more cycle parking spaces in future to meet ambitions to reduce car trips into the city and cope with the huge population and employment growth that the region is already committed to in its Local Plans. There is very little highway space available in the city centre, so we need to re-purpose other spaces, such as multi-storey car parks. I want to see if we can develop a policy to put to the City Council that they could act on. We've been discussing locations for new cycle parks for years (see linked Camcycle article), so what's the hold-up?

New South Cambridgeshire Police station proposed for land adjacent to Milton Park & Ride.

I realise I'm late to the party, but I see that contractors have started removing a line of 50 Sheffield stands at Trumpington Park and Ride ahead of creating more parking spaces. These stands, and all the others on the site, were heavily used. As far as I can see they have as yet made no provision for replacing the lost parking capacity of 100+ bikes.
Worse, as far as I can see from the drawings I've been able to find, they plan to replace these and an existing covered stand with about 40 covered Sheffield stands.
If anyone knows where I can find definitive drawings of what's proposed could you point me at them?
All rather depressing...

The cycle park at the station seems to be under a crime wave. Each day more of the sheffield stands are just unbolted from the ground (should this even be possible?). Some have parts of bikes left on them. There are also a lot of bikes with missing wheels, saddles etc.
The entire unit seems to be neglected now. Dust is building up on the steps and ramps.
Also the area leading the way from the first floor to the second floor is always blocked by sheffield stands that should be removed. Currently only one bike can get through at a time and even me at 5'6" am likely to bang my head on the black cabinet sticking out.
