Garret Hostel Lane is closed since Sunday. There is no information posted about reason, duration of closure. Alternative route (Silver Street) is a poor alternative. What is going on? This is a crucial piece of car-free bicycle infrastructure that should not be removed from the network.

If you are cycling from Addenbrooke's to Big Sainsburys on Coldham's Lane/Brooks Road, there is no legal way to go there without going around the Big Frightening Roundabout. As well as the obvious hazards, this must also add several hundred yards to the journey.
Since Sainsbury's now have wonderful cycle parking which is actually near the door (I'd not been there for several years but it's the only place in Cambridge that sell one particular grocery I use regularly so I have to), should we be campaigning to get this fixed. It needs fixing. The whole road layout to get to and from the shop is entirely car-centric, despite the fact that they've now got better bike parking than any other retailer with a similarly sized car park.

There does not appear to be any cycle parking and there may also be implications for a cycle route as raised by a neighbour to the proposed dwelling. Can someone with local knowledge review? (It also appears as though construction has already started).

Complete separation of cyclists and cars can't always be achieved. To make sharing of the road safer I would like to propose using rumble strips instead of flat paint to separate the bike lane from the rest of the road. It would act as a physical reminder for car-drivers that they are encroaching the bike lane. This happens particularly near pinch points like road bends or crossroads. So even just a selective application of rumble strips could have a very positive effect, I believe. What's the view of the cycling community? Has it been tested?

The link from Barton Road to the Lammas Land car park (and the car park itself) have been closed to all use by the County Council for some development work. This is a buisy cycle route, and no effort has been put into providing a diversion. Currently most people are cycling across the grass behind the hedge beside the road (though how long this will remain possible if it rains is unclear); an alternative is to use other paths across Lammas Land, but they are narrow, not actually marked for cycling, and it's further.
According to a notice at the junction with Barton Road this work will continue to the start of December. There was and is no warning when approaching from east of the river.
